Catons Grove United Methodist Church is located in Cosby TN just a mile from the Cosby entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The church is over 100 years old, built in 1903 by Rev. Thomas Caton. Our church is small with only about 20-25 members but we host a number of visitors each year that are visiting the National Park. Part of our purpose with this blog is to help them find our church.
Each year on the 3rd Sunday in July we have a Homecoming and Caton family members who have moved all over the country come for a visit. We spend a few hours celebrating in song and sermon at the church. Afterwards everyone goes to the National Park for a covered dish dinner and sharing stories of previous years and some good old pickin' & grinnin'.
We encourage former members to email or snail mail us with their stories about the history of the church. As time allows, we will post them here for all to enjoy.
